The inside out team has extensive experience in the development of educational workshops and training programs for a range of organisations and services.
We work closely with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that our customised training best meets their organisation’s training needs and our training is highly evaluated.
All our customised trainings are lived experience-led or co-produced depending on the organisation’s focus and learning needs.
Central to our approach is that lived experience of mental distress is recognised as a crucial key to better understanding and responding to mental distress and its impacts, which is in line with the most contemporary approaches in mental health around the world.
Examples of our customised and customisable training include:
- Co-design theory, practice & methods for the Mental Health Commission of NSW.
- Responding to Suicidality for the St George NSW Community Collaborative and Suicide Prevention for Peer Workers, for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District
- Consumer Perspective Supervision training, developed for VMIAC and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (in collaboration with Melbourne University and the Centre for Mental Health Learning) supporting enhanced discipline-specific supervision skills for lived experience, peer and consumer workers in Victoria.
- Purposeful Storytelling workshops supporting people with lived experience to share their personal experiences with diverse audiences.
- Design and delivery of workshops and mentoring sessions for peer workers employed in both local health districts and non-government organisations, supporting development of knowledge, skills, confidence and role-effectiveness in newly instigated peer-work services.
- Development of written materials for various education providers including South Eastern Sydney Recovery and Wellbeing College and Western Sydney Recovery College.
